Preparing for your appointment is just as important as aftercare when it comes to good healed results. Failure to follow pre-care may result in you being sent home the day of the appointment, so please read the following carefully! You coming prepared to your appointment mean sbetter healed results and a more comfortable experience!
2 Weeks Before:
Botox: If you regularly get Botox or Dysport, it must be done at least 14 days prior to your appointment. It takes at least that long to settle into the skin.
Waxing/Threading: I recommend coming to your appointment with your brows grown out. I will clean them up according to my mapping outline and the more hair to work with the better the final results!
Retin-A: Please refrain from using any retin-a products in the brow area for 2 weeks leading up to your appointment
24 Hours Before:
To minimize bleeding during the procedure, please avoid any alcohol consumption and excessive caffeine. Blood thinning medications such as Ibuprofen and Advil should also be avoided unless prescribed by a doctor.
Map out directions to the studio! I have a very strict 10 minute late policy, so please plan accordingly! Also please plan ahead for traffic and parking if appropriate.
Day of Appointment:
Wash your hair!!! You won't be able to get your brows wet for the next 10-14 days to wash your hair beforehand to give yourself a few extra days before your next wash!
NO Caffine - Including coffee, tea, sode, etc.
Avoide exercise. Excersing increase blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leadidng to poor healed results.
Makeup: You are welcome to come to your appointment with or without makeup on. We will be taking lots of photos, so come however you are most comfortable. If you regularly fill in your eyebrows you're more than able t ocome in with them filled in how you typicaly do to help me get a feel for your regular shape.
RELAX! Feeling nervous is totally normal but I take everything step-by-step and we work together to create your dream brows!
At this time I do not offer in person consultation appointments. If you have a specific questions or concern, or if you are unsure of what service is best suited for you, you are welcome to fill out a waitlist form and add your questions to the comment section. I book extra time during each appointment to make sure we go over all of your questions and concerns beforehand and discuss what style will be best for you.
Permanent Makeup is designed to fade naturally over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, sun exposure, and igment color affect the longevity of the tattoo. Following the given aftercare instructions is crucial to getting your best healed results and routine touch-ups to your brows every 24-36 months (as needed). Touch-ups are normal and expected for PMU.
*Please not that final results vary and CANNOT be guarenteed due to the nature of the skin as it heals. A follow up appointment is required 8-12 weeks after your initial session where we can assess your pigment retention and perfect your permanent makeup.*
Oily Skin:
Increase oil production can cause hairstrokes to blur and fade very quickl, or not stick at all. If you have combination or oily skin, you are a candidate for combo brows or ombre powder brows, NOT for microblading.
Sun Exposure:
Excessive sun exposure will cause premature fading, I recommend all my clients to purchase Cannasmack Ink Guard from Amazon to protect their healed brows from the sun at all times.
Excessive Bleeding:
Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly effect how your body retain pigments. Pinpoint bleeding throughout the procedure is normal, but excessive bleeding causes pigment to fade very quickly and heal ashy, While bleeding is not entirely in our control, it is important to that you follow before care instruction to help minimize bleedng. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications and alcohol 24 houes prior to your service.
Improper Aftercare:
Not following the given aftercare instructions will greatly diminish your healed results. Follow all aftercare instructions exactly for the best results!
Yes! PMU is a two-step process and a touchup is required for perfectly healed results. Your "perfecting session" is 6-10 weeks after your initial session and is mainly used to assess retention, perfect the shape and color and add more dimension if desired.
As for annual touchups those should be done every 24-36 months. You should not be getting your brows done any sooner than 12-16 months. If your eyebrows have not faded enough we will have to push your appointment out further. All tools, pigments and techniques have advanced so it's not necessary to come right on the 2 or 3 year mark. I would always rather you send me photos of your brows to assess if youre ready for a touchup yet rather than coming in and being sent away to wait longer! This is NOT a service you refresh every year on the dot, you must give the pigment time to break down or else it will cause blotchiness and harsh eyebrows long-term.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for PMU. The following list disqualifies you from currently receiving PMU. If you have any questions please contact through the form on the Contact page.
You are not a candidate if you are:
Pregnant, breastfeeding or have recently miscarried (please wait at LEAST 4 additional months after giving birth or breastfeeding to allow your hormones to rebalance and better your retention with Micropigmentation)
Currently using or have been on Accutane within the last 12 months
Have a freshly tanned/sunburned face
Rosacea
Are actively taking blood thinning medications
Currently on or taken an antibiotic within the past 14 days
